Part-Time Advertising Salesperson (Freelance)
- State of the State KS
Job Responsibility: Create revenue for StateoftheStateKS.com
through selling advertising
and helping organizations understand their message will be seen
by a unique demographic that is socially aware and politically active
in the state of Kansas.
Experience: Must have some experience selling advertising in news
industry
Education: High School Diploma, some college education preferred
Additional Qualifications: State of the State News, LLC is a news
organization committed to covering political and policy issues facing
the Kansas state government. Applicants should have an interest
in state or national politics, policy or government.
Tasks: Must be willing to work independently to:
* Develop a list of potential advertising clients
* Research and create advertising proposal tailored to potential
client
* Meet and understand marketing needs of potential client
* Communicate value of reaching our audience, how it meets their
marketing needs
* Follow up with potential clients
* Maintain contracts and invoicing related to advertising
* Close advertising sales & help collect client bills
Must be willing to work with team members to:
* Develop and meet sales goals
* Learn about current events that drive our news cycle
* Understand website viewing audience and trends
* Work with client and video/graphic artist production team to create
advertising concept and commercial
* Help develop events that add value to advertisers
