Scholarship Information

WPC announces 2012 scholarships

WPC is offering two scholarships of $1,000 each to undergraduate communications students at four area schools. Scholarship winners will be selected by a committee of WPC members and winners will be announced in April 2012.

To be eligible:

  • applicants must be students at Butler Community College, or Friends, Newman, or Wichita State universities
  • have declared a major in print or broadcast journalism, mass communications, public relations or advertising
  • have completed a minimum of 45 hours of college credit with an overall grade point average of 3.0
WPC offers all qualified applicants, whether or not they receive a monetary award, memberships in our local WPC group, in Kansas Professional Communicators, and in the National Federation of Press Women.

A completed application form [DOC or PDF], letter of recommendation, and work samples must be postmarked no later than February 3, 2011, and mailed to:
